An intro into the life of a Journalist

‘Just a Journalist’ is intended to be a place to reflect on the current news media world we have-- an industry that is predominantly male and middle-aged. Navigating the world of journalism as a young woman is a hard road to cross. A young person is often accused of being ‘in the dark’ on major issues simply because of our age. It is assumed that we “don’t know what we’re talking about.” On top of that, the current political climate makes it hard for any journalist to be respected in society. This blog will feature current events as well as my journey with journalism as a young woman. I want to reflect on my previous years in journalism as well as my future endeavors in the field.
